About Nate

As a chemist turned editor and self-taught designer, I’ve been diligently working on groundbreaking enterprise-scale scientific research software since 2018 at CAS. As head of design and research, I am most proud of the team I’ve played a role in creating, hiring 5 new designers of various seniorities, expanding our research program, and cultivating a world-class knowledge management capability with our UX writer.

I’ve also served as the founding product designer for Daybase, and helped many other companies and organizations with their digital and physical presences. In 2021, I acquired a certification in Product Management from Cornell University and co-founded a design consultation company specializing in early-stage startups.

I’m passionate about coaching and mentoring aspiring designers, volunteering for humanitarian and community projects, and advocating and fundraising for individuals with type 1 diabetes with Breakthrough T1D. When I’m not working you can find me playing volleyball, cooking in my kitchen, lost in a book, or hanging out with my cat, Moose.
